Chapter 1 of 7

A Field Alive with Light

Step into summer. Monet painted this in 1873 on a hillside near Argenteuil, countryside he knew from long family walks. Not simply a field of poppies — a moment of pure sensation, light and warmth caught before they could escape.

It hangs in the Musée d'Orsay, an icon of Impressionism.
